Make It An Adirondack Weekend!

Spend the weekend discovering Franklin County and all its tranquil beauty! Here are two itineraries with options for lodging and camping within thirty minutes of the festival’s site, with ideas for outdoor fun, meals and shopping.

Southern Journey - Saranac Lake

History and Nature

Stay at the historic Hotel Saranac in the heart of Saranac Lake Village within easy distance of restaurants and shops. Whether you prefer family-style Italian cuisine, fine French Bistro or upscale bar food, we have it covered. Love your morning java? Head to fully accessible Nori’s Riverside Cafe and Village Market
where a barista will get your day started right. Breakfast is available to order or ready-made. Head to Lake Colby for a swim or to launch your canoe/kayak at the boat launch for a morning paddle, keeping your eye out for eagles and ospreys. Book an Accessible Forest Bathing Walk or stroll the paved Rail Trail.

Wilderness Lover

Camp at Fish Creek Pond Campground which offers accessible campsites, restrooms, picnic pavilion and fishing/viewing platform. The campground and day use areas offer beautiful views of several pristine ponds. Several paddle routes are available, but no accessible boat launch.

On Sunday, head to The Wild Center in Tupper Lake to discover all that this award-winning, natural history museum has to offer both indoors and outdoors, including the accessible, suspended Wild Walk, nature art installations, animal encounters and so much more!

Northern Journey - Malone

Nature for All Ages

After the festival, head north in Franklin County to Meacham Lake Campground, on the shores of Meacham Lake, where you can hear loons at night and spot eagles who nest nearby. The campground offers an accessible shower building and restroom. The day use area includes a picnic area with two shelters and open tables.

Sunday morning, head north to Malone for a hearty breakfast or brunch at Hosler’s Family Restaurant. Explore the Memorial Recreation Park’s paved trail or enjoy birdwatching on the shore, where you can enjoy a variety of activities.

Comfort and Treasure Hunting

If you prefer the comfort of a bed, head to Malone to stay at the Red Roof Inn. Whether you prefer pizza and Italian fare or American cuisine, you will find tasty, hearty options. Love to browse and shop for treasures? After a homestyle breakfast or a more elevated brunch, head to the Market Barn, where you will find dozens of local vendors offering everything from antiques and collectibles to local crafts and art. If you lose track of time, you will find a deli on site.
